The live discussion, lasting just under an hour, covers many fascinating aspects of rock art, not only in Australia but through out the world. The three experts discuss the extent of rock art in Australia, the importance of rock art within the indigenous communities and the ensuing dialogues with scientists, how rock art is dated, the importance of recording the art, the ethics of visiting rock art sites and the overwhelming need for its preservation. In essence, they explain how "the story is in the landscape, and the landscape is in the story".

Professor Paul S.C. Taçon and Dr Josephine McDonald are both members of the Rock Art Network.
